We regret to report of the death of Brian and Judith Bradley. Brian (76) and his wife Judith (77) died in a car accident on the M1 motorway near Brinsworth on Thursday afternoon.
Brian's passion for senior and junior sport in the local community was unsurpassed, not just for football, but for bowls as well.
Brian's contribution to football governance in South Yorkshire was quite incredible. His work with us at the County Senior League was paramount to not only its day-to-day running, but its success over the years. His commitment and dedication were his hallmark and he will be sadly missed by everyone at the league. Brian was also a Life Member of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association, and had served as a Director and Treasurer for the association. He also spent time as a referee.
Brian will obviously be fondly remembered by the wider public for his work with the Sheffield Telegraph and Radio Sheffield, where he covered non-league football, specifically Doncaster Rovers. He went on to do commentary for the club in their final years at the Belle Vue stadium.
But it will be for his character that Brian will be missed most. His enthusiasm was contagious. His presence will be forever missed. The touching tributes that have been flowing in from various quarters demonstrates what a person he was, and how many lives he touched.
Our thoughts are with Brian and Judith's family at this difficult time.
We will keep all clubs posted when we have any more information.
